LACATY pins a lot of her inspiration on her nomadic lifestyle, as stints of living and clubbing in Barcelona, Berlin and London developed and honed her music taste over the years. She values DJing as a beautiful opportunity that “opens a door” to discovering and connecting with new places and people on a level that being a normal traveller or tourist cannot offer you.
LACATY’S uplifting sets bring a contagious energy to the dance floor and are unmistakably fresh and punchy. Blending together 90s house gems with trance, breaks, powerhouse, and garage with an element of fun and lightheartedness. Good vibes only, with a twinge of naughtiness, the sole purpose of her sets is always to make people let loose, smile and just have a good time.
After moving to Berlin in 2019, LACATY evolved from dancer to DJ when she joined Femme Bass Mafia in 2021. She quickly made a name for herself in the Berlin scene, landing gigs in numerous clubs such as Watergate, Renate, Golden Gate, RSO, and OXI, as well as all over Germany and internationally in destinations such as San Fransisco, NYC, Tbilisi, Brussels and London (at Venue MOT). She’s contributed to numerous podcasts and appeared on radio stations such as NTS, Balamii, Kiosk Radio and Foundation FM.
Her debut EP ‘Cascade’ on Berlin’s OYE Records, features three tracks designed to ignite any dance floor, channeling the exuberant spirit of the 90s music scene. Each track is a tribute to euphoric dance experiences intertwined with a nostalgic undercurrent, and have seen support from the likes of Sally C and Lovefoxy.
