JAY CARDER
A DJ for over a decade, Jay has played at the likes of Glastonbury, Fusion Festival and FOLD, alongside a growing international schedule. After five years holding a regular slot on Rinse FM, she now also covers for Martha on BBC Radio 1, highlighting new and underground electronic music.
Her sets are rooted in what she describes as “forest techno” – hypnotic, spacious and dubby at their core, with sudden bursts of high-energy build/release. While 4/4 provides a foundation, her approach is unrestricted by genre or tempo, drawing from leftfield techno, bass, breaks, dubstep, jungle and beyond.
As a producer, Jay has released on Wisdom Teeth, Neighbourhood, Tectonic, Ghosttown, Faux Poly and more with support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Martha, Jossy Mitsu and Artwork, and airplay across Rinse FM, NTS, BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music. Her contribution to Wisdom Teeth’s Club Moss compilation, “Mekosha”, drew comparison from RA to late-era Aphex Twin.
She is also co-founder of Erbium Records, which reached its twentieth release and fifth birthday in 2025. Through the label, she champions new and upcoming underground artists working across bass, techno and breaks.
