London-born and Leeds-based Freddie Baker started to turn heads back in 2018 with Cookie – a moody rap collaboration with BNC Javen – which he co-produced at just 17 years old. Since then he’s released music on labels such as Warehouse Project Records, Twenty Twenty London and Time is Now (his ‘Bring it Back’ EP was listed by Mixmag as one of the best EPs of 2021).
Bakey’s passion isn’t confined to the 4 walls of his studio. He is just as zealous when it comes to DJing and has brought tremors to quite a few dance floors, including an iconic Boiler Room set in 2022, and numerous popular festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Bass Coast, Outlook, Love Saves the Day, Waterworks and We Out Here.
The past 12 months have seen Bakey complete tours in Australia, New Zealand and India (alongside brother, Breaka), be interviewed and featured on BBC Radio 1, stream for DJ Mag HQ, and perform at Europe’s newest bucket-list club, Openground.
