Jay Carder’s genre-warping approach to DJing and production has made waves over the past decade, blending UK techno, bass, dubstep, jungle, footwork and more with ease.
Performing everywhere from Glastonbury and Fusion Festival to Canada’s seminal Bass Coast, her fluid sets and intoxicatingly positive energy are in increasingly high demand. Some of her biggest support slots to date include James Blake, Bicep and The Chemical Brothers, and for her own event series she’s booked the likes of Bruce, Bluetoof, Breaka and Coffintexts to name a few. She’s toured India extensively, partly thanks to a regular collaborative show on Soho Radio, which showcases Indian talent in the UK. 2025 also saw her first tour of Australia, and a number of European debuts.
A lover of radio throughout her career to date, she holds a residency on Rinse FM, appears regularly on Radio 1, and has guested on NTS, Kiosk, Stegi and more. She’s known well in the world of broadcasting for unique radio shows that dig deep for new and exciting sounds that hold their roots in bass.
Co-founder of Erbium Records, which saw its twentieth release in 2025, she’s been steadily building the label along with two co-founders over the last five years into a space for new and emerging artists to shine. Standout releases include Delano and Joku, who had their tracks aired on 6Music and Radio 1, and supported on radio and in sets by notable underground djs. Jay’s also had her fair share of personal releases on forward-thinking labels such as Obligated and Wisdom Teeth. Her contribution to the latter’s Club Moss compilation, “Mekosha”, drew comparison from RA to late-era Aphex Twin.
Other label releases include Neighbourhood and Earful of Wax, and her first EP ‘Entropy’ on Faux Poly is still building steady listenership, most notably for the lead track ‘Eva’s Stoned’, which saw support from the likes of Martyn, dBridge, Jossy Mitsu and gained plays across Rinse, NTS and various underground platforms as well as Radio 1 and 6Music, where Mary Anne Hobbs playlisted it on multiple occasions.
